Description

Incredible 1980s - does - 1940s Fabrice black silk cocktail dress! The dress is knee length, with long sleeves and a jewel neckline. The dress has a sheath silhouette, with a sarong - like skirt that harkens back to the Polynesian craze of the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s. The deep black silk of the dress is offset by rectangular sequins stitched onto the fabric, in addition to the elegant, detailed floral bead and sequin work located at the hip, shoulders, sleeves, and skirt hem. Beaded fringe at the hip and hem dangle vibrantly.

Hatian-Born Fabrice Simon was at the center of New York nightlife in the 1980s, designing fashions for clients including Whitney Houston, Christie Brinkley, Jerry Hall, Iman, Cornelia Guest, Beverly Johnson, Kathleen Turner, Shirley MacLaine, Natalie Cole, Nina Griscom, and Toukie Smith.
